Auditorium

The Auditorium is situated in the west wing of the Institute building, on the side facing the Cathedral. It seats an audience of around 180 and is the main venue for lectures and conferences of the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg.

Together with the broad glass façade and the large glass doors, a comprehensive lighting system ensures suitable light at all times. With the help of an integrated projection system and its connected devices every speaker can choose various forms of supporting media, e.g. PC presentation, visualizer, DVD or VHS player.

The PA system enables not only the speaker's voice to be heard clearly all over the auditorium, but thanks to several portable cordless microphones contributions to the discussion from the audience can be amplified as well. A CD player allows sound media to be used as well.
Access to the auditorium, which is on a slightly lower level than the foyer, is via steps or a lift suitable for disabled people.
