Apartments
In a residential building, linked with the main building by the glass foyer, the Institute's fellows have thirteen apartments with practical, modern furnishings at their disposal. Seven of them are one-room flats, five have two rooms each, and one apartment has three rooms. Four apartments are split between the first and second floors, maisonette style, three are on the second floor, and there are two apartments each on the ground floor, the first floor and the third floor. The sizes of the flats are between 30 and 44 square metres for one room, between 56 and 60 metres for two rooms, and 65 square metres for the one with three rooms. All apartments have a built-in kitchen with a microwave oven, and a bathtub or shower. The two- and three-room flats also have a dish-washer. Six flats have their own balcony.
Further facilities are a lift and a ground-level lockable bicycle room. The house also has a communal drying room with washing machines, dryers, steam irons and ironing tables. In the basement each apartment has its own box-room, so that cases do not have to be stored in the flat.
In warm weather the roof terrace, offering an incomparable view of St. Nicholas' Cathedral, is very inviting. Next to it is a lounge which may also be used by all fellows for small parties.
Internet access (LAN), telephone with direct dialling, TV, bed linen, towels and complete kitchen equipment with crockery and cutlery and cleaning utensils are also provided. Use of the LAN (e.g. with one's own laptop) is - as in the Institute's workrooms - free of charge.
