Greifswald Bohemicum
The Greifswald Bohemicum is a one-week international summer school focusing on Czech literature, language and culture. Organised by the University of Greifswald and the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg Greifswald, it offers students, PhD candidates and other interested parties the opportunity to engage intensively with key topics in Czech studies.
Each year, the summer school focuses on a specific literary or linguistic theme. Specialist seminars, interactive workshops and public evening lectures provide both theoretical and creative approaches to Czech literature and culture. Particular emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary and intercultural perspectives.
In addition to academic discourse, the Bohemicum promotes exchange between early-career researchers, students and cultural practitioners. It provides a space for networking, creative inspiration and open dialogue within an international academic environment.
The summer school is primarily aimed at undergraduates and PhD students of Czech and German studies, but is also open to those from other disciplines. The language of the programme is German; a knowledge of Czech at B1 level or higher is required for successful participation.
