CfA Polonicum

The Greifswald Polonicum
is a summer school on contemporary Polish literature, culture and language, as well as the processes of change, which has been running since 2011. It is organised by internationally renowned Polish studies scholars and is aimed at advanced students of Polish studies from all over the world. Similar to the long-established Greifswald Ukrainicum, participants are provided with the ideal conditions to engage with issues in contemporary Polish literature and the processes of change in Polish culture at an academic level. We regard the connection between these two areas, viewed through the lens of civil society upheavals, as a central element of the summer school and round off the programme with public evening lectures that also incorporate political and historical contexts.
The Greifswald Polonicum is primarily aimed at undergraduates and PhD students of Polish Studies, Slavic Studies or cultural and political science subjects, but other interested parties are also warmly invited to apply. The languages of instruction are Polish, German and, where necessary, English. Knowledge of both languages at B2/C1 level or higher is required for successful participation.
