Greifswald Ukrainicum
The Greifswald Ukrainicum is an established international summer school focusing on contemporary Ukrainian culture, language and academia. It offers advanced undergraduates, PhD students and other interested parties the opportunity to engage in-depth with the processes of transformation within Ukrainian society, as well as its history, literature and politics. The focus is on interdisciplinary perspectives that reflect cultural and socio-political developments. The programme is complemented by public evening lectures that explore historical and current contexts in greater depth. The summer school places particular emphasis on international exchange and dialogue between scholars from different disciplines.
The two-week summer school takes place annually in August in Greifswald and combines language courses, seminars, lectures, film screenings and panel discussions with intensive academic exchange. A particular focus is placed on networking between early-career researchers and established academics. The language of instruction is English. Language skills at B2/C1 level or higher are required for successful participation.
