Access to the central livestream during the conference

All conference events will be broadcast via a central livestream. The transmission will take place via Zoom in the meeting version. The access link initially leads to a Zoom waiting room a few minutes before the start of the respective event. At the announced start of the event, participants are automatically forwarded to the digital lecture hall.

Purpose of the processing
We use the “Zoom” application to conduct digital lectures. “Zoom” is a service provided by Zoom Video Communications, Inc. based in the USA.

Controller
The Alfried Krupp Kolleg Greifswald Foundation is the controller within the meaning of the data protection regulations for the data processed directly by it when conducting digital lectures.

Note: If you access the “Zoom” website or download and use software, the provider of “Zoom” is responsible for the associated data processing. It is necessary to access the “Zoom” website in order to download the software for the use of “Zoom”. You can also use “Zoom” if you enter the relevant meeting ID and any other access data for the meeting directly in the “Zoom” app. If you do not want to or cannot use the “Zoom” app, the basic functions can also be used via a browser version, which you can also find on the “Zoom” website.

Type of data processed
When using “Zoom”, the following types of data are processed:

  • the data you provide when registering and during the Digital Lecture, including your content contributions where applicable;
  • the technical data of your device required for the implementation (e.g. operating system, IP address, camera, microphone, etc.)
  • any data recorded by us during the Digital Lecture, to which we may draw your attention separately.

Scope of data processing
We use the “Zoom” application and the data collected in this context to conduct digital lectures. If we intend to record these for the purpose of archiving and, if necessary, publication, we will draw your attention to this. The fact of the recording will also be displayed on the screen.
Questions from the audience may be presented and answered audibly and visibly for all participants. In the event of a recording, these will also be recorded and subsequently published if necessary.

Legal basis for data processing
We process your personal data that is required for the implementation of our Digital Lectures and that you have provided in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR.

Recipients / disclosure of data
Personal data that is processed in connection with participation in Digital Lectures will not be passed on to third parties unless it is intended to be passed on or published. The provider of “Zoom” necessarily receives knowledge of the above-mentioned data insofar as this is necessary for the technical implementation of the Digital Lectures.

Your rights
You have the right to request information free of charge about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients as well as the purpose and duration of data processing. In addition, you have the right to rectification, restriction of processing (e.g. blocking), erasure and data portability of your data under the conditions of Art. 16-20 GDPR. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority if you believe that your personal data is being processed unlawfully.
