Call for tender Alfried Krupp Fellowships 2027/28
The Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg Greifswald is awarding up to six Alfried Krupp Senior Fellowships and up to eight Alfried Krupp Junior Fellowships for the 2027/2028 academic year.
The Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg Greifswald is an independent academic institution located in the heart of the university and Hanseatic city of Greifswald. The Alfried Krupp Fellows Programme was launched in 2007 and is run with the support of the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation. It enables fellows to concentrate on a major research project free from teaching commitments and administrative duties.
Scholars with a proven track record of outstanding achievement in research and teaching may apply for an Alfried Krupp Senior Fellowship. The Alfried Krupp Junior Fellowships are awarded to particularly qualified early-career researchers who have completed their doctorates.
Fellows are appointed for either one semester or one academic year. Applications from the natural sciences are particularly welcome. Joint applications by several researchers for interdisciplinary projects are also possible.
Applicants are expected to demonstrate in their research proposal how the planned project will strengthen the University of Greifswald’s research priorities and contribute to the advancement of science and research in Greifswald.
In the 2027/2028 academic year, the Call for tender will also focus on the following interdisciplinary theme:
- “Prevention: Interdisciplinary research on health promotion, disease prevention and social resilience”
Researchers from all disciplines working in this field are particularly encouraged to apply. Applications from other research areas are also welcome.
Applications for the 2027/2028 academic year should be submitted to the Research Director of the Research Group, Professor Dr Thomas Klinger, between 1 June and 31 August 2026 and may only be submitted electronically via the application form.
Further information on application documents, the selection process, funding and general conditions can be found on the ‘Application & General Conditions’ page.
By submitting their application, applicants consent to the processing of their personal data for the specified purpose. Further information can be found in the Research School’s privacy policy.
