One Health is ideally positioned to address the highly interconnected global challenges facing the environment, health and society yet the full potential of One Health has not yet been fully realised. Focusing on case studies, I will illustrate the potential of One Health interventions for im- proving health as well as achieving broader environmental and societal outcomes. I will discuss primary prevention of spillover, arguing that One Health provides a framework for developing interventions targeted at more distal driv- ers of disease risk and provides opportunities for building alliances and partnerships to address prevention of pandemic threats at source.
