NOTWENDIG, NÜTZLICH, NEU – Langzeitforschung in Hamburg

Exhibition, Event language: German, Focus: DIVERSITY OF KNOWLEDGE

Who are we? Where do we come from? Humanity’s cultural heritage provides the answers to these questions. As part of the Academies Programme, researchers devote themselves to key texts, languages and sources over a period of 12 to 25 years, whilst also making them accessible in digital form. The Hamburg Academy of Sciences is currently carrying out eight long-term research projects in cooperation with the University of Hamburg and the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts. Their topics range from ancient manuscripts to contemporary issues. What they have in common is that all long-term research projects lay the foundations for further research and insights, both now and in the future. In doing so, these projects preserve knowledge that would otherwise be lost. Discover the world of long-term research and find out why this work is necessary, useful and innovative!
