Purpose of processing
We use the ‘Zoom’ application to deliver digital lectures. ‘Zoom’ is a service provided by Zoom Video Communications, Inc., which is based in the USA.

Data controller
The Alfried Krupp Kolleg Greifswald Foundation is the data controller, within the meaning of data protection legislation, for the data it processes directly in connection with the delivery of digital lectures.

Please note: If you visit the ‘Zoom’ website or download and use the software, the provider of ‘Zoom’ is responsible for the associated data processing. You must visit the ‘Zoom’ website to download the software required to use ‘Zoom’. You can also use ‘Zoom’ by entering the relevant meeting ID and, where applicable, any further access details for the meeting directly into the ‘Zoom’ app. If you do not wish to or are unable to use the ‘Zoom’ app, the basic functions are also available via a browser version, which you can also find on the ‘Zoom’ website.

Type of data processed
When using ‘Zoom’, the following types of data are processed:

• the data you provide when registering and during the digital lecture, including, where applicable, your contributions to the content;
• the technical data relating to your device that is required to run the session (e.g. operating system, IP address, camera, microphone, etc.);
• any data recorded by us during the digital lecture, which we may draw your attention to separately where applicable.

Scope of data processing
We use the ‘Zoom’ application and the data collected in this context to deliver digital lectures. If we intend to record these for the purposes of archiving and, where applicable, publication, we will inform you accordingly. A notification that the session is being recorded will also be displayed on your screen.
Questions from the audience may be read out and answered in a manner that is audible and visible to all participants. In the event of a recording, these questions will also be recorded and may subsequently be published.

Legal basis for data processing
We process your personal data, which is necessary for the delivery of our digital lectures and which you provide, in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

Recipients / Disclosure of Data
Personal data processed in connection with participation in Digital Lectures is not, as a rule, disclosed to third parties, unless it is specifically intended for disclosure or publication. The provider of ‘Zoom’ necessarily gains access to the aforementioned data to the extent that this is required for the technical delivery of the Digital Lectures.

Your rights
You have the right, upon request, to receive information free of charge about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients, as well as the purpose and duration of the data processing. In addition, subject to the conditions set out in Articles 16–20 of the GDPR, you have the right to rectification, restriction of processing (e.g. blocking), erasure and data portability of your data. Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data is not lawful.
