Can art heal social traumas?

Lukáš Houdek has been dedicated to the topic of the post-war expulsion of Germans and the reconciliation process. Through his projects, he gives a mirror to Czech society and looks for ways to achieve mutual reconciliation. In his lecture, his individual projects will be presented along with examples of public responses or specific impacts on concrete families.
 

Lukáš Houdek is a Czech documentary maker, journalist and artist. He studied Romani Studies at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. He was the coordinator and one of the leading figures of the HateFree Culture campaign. In his work, he is dedicated to topics related to body image and intimacy, and has a number of artistic and journalistic projects on the topic of minorities, prejudices and historical or personal traumas. Today, he is a reporter for Heroine magazine, and he also helps several cities communicate topics related to the coexistence of different population groups.
